Soldiers were, are and will be the pawn of politicians. Brave SADF soldiers were indoctrinated that they fighting against communism and the ant-christ. It was much more nuanced than that. It was the oil fields in Angola and mines in South Africa they were actually defending. Anti-government rebels thought they were fighting for freedom and democracy. They were badly mistaken. Little did they realise their leaders already sold them to the American/British/South African oligarchy. Long story short, the privileged middle class who worked so hard for an African dream saw it go down the drain. People from the location moved to the city looking for a better life ended up in slums. The only people well off are the new politicians and oligarchy as the gravy train toots along. Good luck my compatriats, much worse times are ahead.
